The fall is a great time for young players to enhance their game while playing other sports. LXTC offers a variety of opportunities in the fall including the Sunday Sessions, the Denver USBOXLA outdoor box league, the popular and highly respected Denver Elite teams and the DU fall team tournament. These programs are awesome opportunities for youth and high school players to develop their skills, compete at a high level and learn from some of the best lacrosse coaches and players in the world. The LXTC fall calendar of events includes:
1. Denver Pioneers Sunday Sessions / Denver Elite Tryouts - September and October
The Sunday Sessions, held at the University of Denver, are one of the most popular programs of the year. Run by coaches Trevor Tierney, Matt Brown and Bill Tierney, these sessions are a great way for players to get high quality instruction from the LXTC coaches, work off the rust from summer vacation and put their best foot forward to try and make the Denver Elite teams. These sessions focus on individual skills and drills in order to develop a solid fundamental base and basic understanding of the game. The top players from these sessions are invited to play for the Denver Elite fall club teams at each designated age level. To learn more about this program, go to the LXTC Field Clinics page.
2. USBOXLA Denver Box Outdoor League - September and October
This league is held in outdoor rinks (just like the ones that many young Canadian players grow up on) located in Aurora, CO. The players learn how to play box lacrosse from coaches Matt Brown, Jamie Shewchuk, and other top pro box lacrosse players through skill sessions and drills. They also get to compete in games to play and have fun. All young players should try to participate in as much box lacrosse as possible, along with field lacrosse, to increase their skill sets, toughness and fundamentals. To learn more about this program, go to the LXTC Box Leagues page.
3. Denver Elite Fall Field Teams - October, November and December

There four youth teams (U11, U12, U13 and U15) and three high school teams (one team per class year) in the fall which compete in two local tournaments and one highly competitive travel tournament. This is an important time of year for high school players to get recruited, so we try to get them as much exposure in front of college coaches as possible. Denver Elite is a member of the NSCLA, which is comprised of all of the top club teams in the country. To learn more about this program, go to the LXTC Field Teams page.
4. Denver Pioneers Fall Team Challenge - November

The winter is the time of year to get indoors, go to skills clinics and play a lot of box lacrosse. While it is important for young athletes to play some other winter sports to increase their overall athleticism, it is equally essential for them to keep working on their skills and fundamentals. The best lacrosse players play all year round and play a lot of box lacrosse. While moving indoors for the winter season, LXTC is on the forefront of providing great indoor and outdoor opportunities to help develop the best lacrosse players in the world! The LXTC winter calendar of events includes:
1. USBOXLA Denver Box Indoor Leagues - November, December, January and February
LXTC offers two sessions of box lacrosse for players of all age levels. These indoor leagues, headed up by coaches Matt Brown and Jamie Shewchuk are simply the best way for young players to improve their game. The reason why many of the Canadian college players are dominating the game now is because they grow up playing box lacrosse. With the glass around the rink keeps the ball in play and the tighter quarters, our young Colorado players can do the same and become highly-skilled through these box lacrosse opportunities. The players that compete in these leagues make huge strides in their game over a short time span. The games and skill sessions are held at the APEX Fieldhouse, which has two full sized rinks with sport turf and is perfect for the cold winter months. The top players from these sessions are selected for the Denver Elite box club teams who play in various tournaments throughout the year. To learn more about this program, go to the LXTC Box Leagues page.
2. Denver Pioneers Holiday Shooting and Goalie Clinic - December
These indoor clinics, directed by Matt Brown and Trevor Tierney, are an awesome opportunity for players to keep working on their skills in the cold of winter and make sure that they are not getting rusty for the upcoming spring season. This clinic focuses on fundamentals, stick-skills and shooting with high repetition drills for offensive players. The goalies will learn the same techniques, drills and skills that the goalies at DU work on everyday to hone their skills at that position. This is just a great little clinic with top-flight instruction for young players to enhance their game right before the holidays. To learn more about this program, go to the LXTC Field Clinics page.
LXTC supports the community’s youth and high school programs and believes that players should concentrate on those teams for the spring. The only offering during these months are some light box practices on Sundays for the Denver Elite box and field teams. The spring is when all of the players off-season training and hard work will pay off for their teams! The LXTC spring calendar of events includes:
1. Denver Elite Box Lacrosse Practices - March, April and May
These practices, held at the outdoor box rinks in Aurora, CO, are intended to be focused towards skill development for the Denver Elite field and box teams that are competing in the summer. Run by coaches Kenny Crowley and Jamie Shewchuk, these practices allow the Denver Elite players to get some light work in while their spring seasons are going on to increase their stick-work competencies and fundamentals. This is also a chance for the teams to come together and form some chemistry for the summer season of intense competition. This is a huge added value for being a member of the Denver Elite club teams. To learn more about this program, go to the LXTC Box Teams and Field Teams page.
