DENVER, CO: LXTC Lacrosse Training Center is proud to announce the first ever Division One Committed Games. The event is open to all male lacrosse players, high school graduation years 2015-2018. Players who have already committed to a Division One lacrosse program will be grouped together so they can receive instruction from their future coaches and gain experience training with their future teammates. It will take place at Hofstra University on Long Island from July 10th-12th 2015.
Created by Division One college coaches, the Committed Games provide a unique opportunity for clarity for players and coaches alike. For players, it represents a chance to establish a baseline for the college game. Whether a freshman or a senior, players will gain an understanding of what to expect from their future coaches. The Committed Games also provide a rare opportunity for players to play alongside future teammates and to establish chemistry on and off the field. This experience with their program of choice will set expectations for the future and serve to ease the transition from high school play to the college level play.
College coaches also stand to benefit from the experience of the Committed Games. Not only do they provide coaches an opportunity to evaluate the talent they have and to evaluate how these players fit into their current rosters, but the event also gives coaches a long-term view. As University of Denver head coach Bill Tierney stated, “it [the Committed Games] allows us as coaches an opportunity to understand where each piece of the puzzle fits as we build the future of our program.”
Because nothing like the Committed Games have been held before, extra care has gone into making sure that the format of the event has been vetted through NCAA compliance and all activities meet their specific requirement standards.
The event will include group training with instruction on Friday, three games on Saturday plus positional clinics and guest speakers, and two final games on Sunday. Players who register for the event will be placed on a team with other players committed to the same school. Coaches from that same institution who participate in the event will provide instruction for their recruits. Games will be played with NCAA rules and top level officials.
For the 2015 Committed Games players from the classes of 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 are eligible to participate. Although this event is targeted toward committed players, per NCAA rules, it is open to uncommitted players too. Uncommitted players will be placed on a wild card team or used to fill roster spots for smaller teams.
The Committed Games will host the best lacrosse of the summer and is not to be missed. For more information, go to LXTC Lacrosse Training Center at this link: http://www.lxtclacrosse.com/division-i-committed-games/
